Christel is a local volunteer, small business owner and dog person. She’s got 5 resident dogs and has fostered over 60 others. After learning what products were great for all sorts of dogs, she organized group orders of fresh beef bones with SOMA neighbors but found the logistics challenging.
Building on her small business experience and love of problem solving, she launched Dr. Sally’s Bones to deliver high quality pet products from diverse, ethical small businesses.
Is Dr Sally actually a doctor?
Yes. She earned an EdD in Health Education from Columbia University and when the dogs are sleeping she sometimes works in public health.
IS her name really sally?
No. But approximately 40 years ago her older sister decided to start calling her Sally, and most of the family calls her that to this day.
Because siblings are the worst.
IS this her?
Yes. She lives in South Orange, NJ with a large swarm of small dogs.
What’s with the backyard?
With 5 dogs, frequent fosters, and occasional guests, it’s nice to move the home office outdoors as soon as spring has sprung.
That’s where we were when the dogs linked their shared brain cell and convinced Dr. Sally that she should fill her office with dog treats…
